Supplier Quality Engineer (Defense)

What you will do

• Audit and qualify suppliers against technical, manufacturing, and quality requirements.
• Lead root-cause and corrective-action processes for supplier-related defects.
• Drive APQP and PPAP activities to ensure new components are production-ready.
• Create supplier performance visibility through scorecards, COPQ metrics, and DPMO reporting.
• Review engineering change orders for effects on supplier tooling and processes.
• Work with Procurement to identify high-risk suppliers and provide technical support for production-critical shortages.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in supplier quality, quality engineering, or manufacturing engineering.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, statistical process control, and ERP systems.
• Experience leading 8D, 5-Why, or Fishbone investigations.
• Experience in aerospace, automotive, or other high-complexity hardware industries.
• Familiarity with AS9100/ISO 9001, Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification, or US export controls such as ITAR/EAR.
