Manufacturing Engineer (Defense)

Location: On-site in Victorville, California, United States

Salary: $85,000–$115,000 per year for the Manufacturing Engineer level; Senior Manufacturing Engineer: $115,000–$145,000; Lead Manufacturing Engineer: $145,000–$170,000.

What you will do

• Own production processes from build readiness through steady-state manufacturing.
• Design and qualify manufacturing equipment, fixtures, tools, and jigs for repeatable builds.
• Develop and release controlled work instructions and quality gates.
• Optimize Design for Manufacturing and Assembly processes, including assembly simplification and built-in quality.
• Provide production support through SPC, PFMEA, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with suppliers, contract manufacturers, technicians, supply chain, design engineering, quality, and production teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering, or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in production manufacturing, process engineering, or industrialization; internships and school projects qualify.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, GD&T, and technical specifications.
• Experience with root-cause analysis, corrective actions, quality systems, inspection methods, and production documentation.
• Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship for access to export-controlled technology; Mach participates in E-Verify.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with machining, welding, composites, additive manufacturing, assembly, or testing.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or other high-rate production environments.
• Expertise in DFMA, lean manufacturing, and process optimization.
• Ability to operate autonomously with minimal documentation.
