TL;DR
Senior Facilities Maintenance Technician (Electrical and Mechanical Systems): Maintaining and improving the electrical, mechanical, and utility systems that support a factory manufacturing advanced microreactors with an accent on equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, and production uptime. Focus on troubleshooting complex facility systems, coordinating specialized repairs, responding to emergencies, and establishing maintenance standards in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Location: Must be based in the United States and willing to work on-site in Austin, TX. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or U.S. Persons in compliance with 10 CFR Part 810 and may not hold non-compliant foreign citizenships.

What you will do

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical and mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, pumps, motors, compressors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and building controls.
  • Troubleshoot low- and medium-voltage wiring, panels, breakers, lighting, transformers, and control circuits.
  • Lead preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and asset life.
  • Maintain building utility systems such as compressed air, process cooling, water, gas, and electrical distribution.
  • Coordinate contractors and vendors, maintain CMMS records and parts inventory, and ensure compliance documentation is accurate.
  • Drive reliability and energy-efficiency improvements, respond to facility emergencies, and mentor junior technicians.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of facilities, industrial, or plant maintenance experience across electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic, hand, and power tools, plus strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, NEC, lockout/tagout, building codes, and other applicable safety standards.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; ability to lift up to 30 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or at heights.

Nice to have

  • Experience in nuclear, aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Trade certification or licensure, such as journeyman electrician.
  • Experience with automated or robotic production equipment, industrial utilities, CMMS platforms, vibration analysis, or thermography.
  • Greenfield factory buildout, capital-project, welding, fabrication, or millwright experience.
  • Associate degree or technical/vocational training in a relevant field.
