Facilities Maintenance Technician (Renewable Energy)

Location: On-site in Portland, Oregon, United States; occasional support for multiple nearby sites may be required.

Salary: $34.00–$48.00 per hour, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Perform routine corrective maintenance, minor repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance across the facility.
• Support building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and compressed air infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot equipment such as pumps, fans, blowers, compressors, motors, gearboxes, belts, bearings, valves, and drive components.
• Install, assemble, relocate, and commission workstations, storage systems, furniture, signage, and operational equipment.
• Respond to employee facility needs, monitor infrastructure reliability, and identify developing failures before they affect operations.
• Maintain accurate work-order records covering materials, troubleshooting, root causes, corrective actions, and follow-up items.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, industrial maintenance, maintenance mechanics, or a comparable skilled trade.
• Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and facility infrastructure systems.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and testing equipment.
• Ability to diagnose issues, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and interpret manuals, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and maintenance documentation.
• Knowledge of JHA, LOTO, OSHA safety requirements, PPE, ladder safety, and safe work practices; ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders and lifts.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to be insured to operate a company vehicle if required.

Nice to have

• Experience with motors, pumps, fans, compressors, bearings, drive systems, pneumatic systems, shop equipment, and material handling systems.
• Forklift, scissor lift, boom lift, or other aerial work platform certification or experience.
• Familiarity with Jira, Slack, Google Workspace, or similar operational tools.
• Basic fabrication, carpentry, and facility repair skills.
