Verification & Validation Engineer (SATCOM)

Location: Hybrid in Harwell, UK, or Barcelona, Spain; legal right to work in the chosen location required

What you will do

• Translate high-level Satcom system requirements into automated tests and verifiable acceptance criteria.
• Develop reusable Python validation code and complex test scenarios within internal automation frameworks.
• Run automated system and integration tests across Software-in-the-Loop and Hardware-in-the-Loop environments.
• Maintain performance, regression, and stability test suites, monitoring throughput, latency, and system reliability.
• Investigate failed tests, identify root causes, and resolve issues with engineers during agile sprint cycles.
• Improve verification practices, metrics, testing tools, and debugging workflows with the Test Automation Framework team.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of system verification and validation in agile delivery environments.
• Experience with shift-left testing, continuous verification, and translating system requirements into automated tests.
• Ability to build automated system and integration tests in Python.
• Understanding of complex distributed systems and failure propagation.
• Familiarity with SIL and HIL validation environments, CI/CD pipelines, and automated test execution.
• Structured, analytical debugging approach and ownership of performance, regression, and stability testing.
