Location: Onsite in Louisville, Colorado, United States; up to 10% domestic travel.

Salary: $126,887–$181,949 USD per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

  • Own automated hardware test development from concept through deployment.
  • Develop Python-based automation for controlling lab equipment, running procedures, and verifying hardware behavior.
  • Create reusable test frameworks and libraries across satellite hardware subsystems.
  • Design and execute verification and validation campaigns, including functional, corner-case, and fault-condition testing.
  • Analyze test results, investigate anomalies, and identify root causes.
  • Coordinate test interfaces with electrical, mechanical, flight software, and ground software teams while documenting procedures and configurations.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in a similar hardware test automation role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering, computer science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proficiency in Python for test scripting and automation.
  • Hands-on testing of electrical or mechanical systems, subsystems, or components, including cabling and instrumentation.
  • Experience with complex hardware systems in aerospace, defense, semiconductors, robotics, or a related field.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, lab equipment, and control interfaces such as GPIB, Ethernet, and USB.

Nice to have

  • Experience testing aerospace or other high-reliability hardware.
  • Knowledge of hardware-in-the-loop testing and embedded interfaces such as UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, and SpaceWire.
  • Experience with GitLab-based continuous integration and automated test execution.
  • Familiarity with NumPy, pandas, Matplotlib, Plotly, PyQt, or Grafana for test data analysis and visualization.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills focused on reproducibility and rigor.
