Quality Assurance Engineer - Modelling & Simulation

Location: Full-time onsite in Warminster, Wiltshire, five days per week. Candidates must have been resident in the UK for the last five years and be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC).

What you will do

• Own verification, validation, and assurance across models, simulation components, integrated training systems, and supporting data.
• Define and maintain test and validation strategies aligned with training needs, customer requirements, system capabilities, and exercise design.
• Design and execute functional, integration, regression, and scenario-based validation tests.
• Validate models against authoritative data, subject-matter-expert expectations, and expected behaviours.
• Assess model fidelity, realism, behavioural correctness, system performance, timing, responsiveness, and cross-system interactions.
• Produce traceable test plans, validation reports, evidence packs, and fitness-for-training-use assessments.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of VV&A principles, frameworks, and model and system validation approaches.
• Experience validating simulation models, assessing fitness-for-purpose, and producing structured validation evidence.
• Expertise in test planning and execution, including functional, integrated, and regression testing.
• Experience validating end-to-end behaviour, data flows, timing, interactions, and consistency.
• Experience producing structured documentation and integrating validation outputs into governed systems with versioned artefacts.
• Five years’ UK residency and eligibility to obtain mandatory UK Security Clearance (SC) are required.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with JSP 939, NATO VV&A guidance, RPR-FOM, NETN-FOM, or other Defence and Modelling & Simulation standards.
• Experience with automated test frameworks, data analysis tools, or Python scripting.
