TL;DR
Mission Manager - Neutron (Aerospace): Managing commercial and government customer missions from contract signing through payload integration and launch with an accent on technical, programmatic, and financial milestones. Focus on hands-on payload integration, launch vehicle-to-spacecraft interface documentation, customer coordination, and supporting complex aerospace missions across U.S. and international launch sites.

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; based at hirify.global Headquarters. Frequent travel to customer sites, launch pads, and overseas launch locations in Auckland, New Zealand and Wallops, Virginia.

Base pay range: $116,000–$160,000 USD per year for California.

What you will do

  • Manage multiple customer missions across technical, programmatic, and financial milestones.
  • Oversee hands-on payload integration, including fit checks, dispenser integration, and launch vehicle integration.
  • Develop and verify launch vehicle-to-spacecraft Interface Control Documentation.
  • Create and execute assembly and integration instructions.
  • Coordinate directly with customers and technical staff to resolve mission questions.
  • Support business development, technical sales reviews, public events, and the development of Mission Integrators.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical discipline; mechanical, electrical, or aerospace engineering preferred.
  • At least 5 years of mission management experience and/or an engineering background in areas such as stress, fatigue, payloads, vibration, or thermal engineering.
  • Hardware integration or project management experience on launch vehicle or spacecraft projects.
  • Ability to travel to launch pads, customer sites, and overseas locations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
  • For U.S. office work, eligibility to access ITAR-regulated technology is required, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, qualifying refugee or asylum status, or applicable government authorizations.

Nice to have

  • Experience with NSSL, NLS, CubeSats, SmallSats, or other small space payloads.
  • ITAR experience, including establishing Technical Assistance Agreements.
  • Experience with complex mechanical systems, mechanical and electrical drawings, and electrical or mechanical testing.
  • Space-sector sales engineering experience and customer expectation management.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance, strong presentation and technical writing skills, and solid interpersonal and organizational abilities.
