Senior Facilities Project Manager (Defense)

Location: Torrance, California, United States

Salary: $136,000–$190,500 USD per year, plus potential equity grants.

What you will do

• Lead facilities infrastructure projects from requirements and scope development through design, permitting, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
• Manage architects, MEP and structural engineers, contractors, equipment installers, specialty vendors, and landlord stakeholders.
• Own project budgets, cost forecasts, schedules, change management, procurement, and risk tracking.
• Coordinate construction activities, site walks, design reviews, RFIs, submittals, change orders, inspections, and field issue resolution.
• Deliver manufacturing infrastructure, equipment installations, utility upgrades, cleanrooms, laboratories, HVAC and exhaust systems, electrical upgrades, and facility renovations.
• Coordinate commissioning, training, punch-list completion, turnover, permits, warranties, O&M manuals, and as-built documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering, construction management, architecture, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience delivering facilities, construction, infrastructure, or capital projects.
• Experience independently managing projects through both design and construction.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, change orders, budgets, schedules, and cost forecasts.
• Working knowledge of commercial and industrial mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire/life-safety, and building systems.
• Experience with permitting, plan review, inspections, AHJ coordination, and active manufacturing or construction environments.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, automotive, or other industrial facilities.
• Experience with cleanrooms, laboratories, hazardous materials, process gases, or controlled environments.
• Experience with leased facilities, landlord approvals, design-build, or fast-track project delivery.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, or similar tools.
• PMP, EIT, PE, CCM, or similar certification, plus commissioning experience.
