Satellite Ground Station Engineer (SATCOM)

Location: Duluth, Georgia, United States. Travel up to 50%, including internationally; on-call availability after hours for up to 30%. Normal business hours are 8:00 am–5:00 pm US Eastern Time.

Salary: $82,000–$129,500 annually. Specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area may have a range of $102,000–$153,000 annually.

What you will do

• Install, maintain, and support satellite ground station equipment and other ground elements of space programs.
• Provide technical support for SATCOM earth station customers globally and interface directly with customers.
• Diagnose root causes, perform emergency restoration actions, and implement short- and long-term solutions.
• Repair, configure, and troubleshoot antennas, ACUs, converters, HPAs, LNAs/LNBs, fiber-optic subsystems, baseband, modem, multiplexer, DVB, broadband, LAN, and IP equipment.
• Coordinate with headquarters engineering teams to resolve customer issues and minimize downtime.
• Develop and complete test plans and draft test reports.

Requirements

• 5+ years of field-related SATCOM and satellite experience, including direct installation and repair of satellite earth stations.
• US citizenship is required.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one is required; an active US passport or the ability to obtain one within six months is also required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical subject or equivalent work experience.
• Experience providing remote technical assistance, troubleshooting LAN and IP equipment, and working independently in stressful or diverse environments.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, travel internationally, work on-call, and comply with government vaccination requirements for travel.

Nice to have

• Three years of experience with hirify.global products such as 3880 ACU, AC4100, VTR-4100, VTR-5100, and VHR modem product lines.
• Advanced root-cause analysis and customer communication skills.
• Experience with Salesforce, ServiceNow, or other ticketing and workflow tools.
• Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.
