Staff Electrical Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; travel up to 10% within the US and internationally

What you will do

• Own electronic systems from ideation through design, testing, product release, and mass production.
• Architect high-level electronics and develop multi-layer mixed-signal PCBAs, including component selection, simulation, prototyping, and debugging.
• Define, simulate, and verify electrical system requirements, performance, power, and thermal behavior.
• Design functional-safety hardware with redundancy, fail-safe mechanisms, diagnostics, and compliance with applicable standards.
• Create schematics, block diagrams, test plans, procedures, fabrication documentation, and assembly drawings.
• Lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, coordinate with leadership and cross-functional teams, and manage vendors and manufacturing partners.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in electronics development and a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience architecting and shipping electronics products in mass production, including product lifecycle management and PLM systems such as Arena.
• Hands-on experience designing, prototyping, testing, and debugging PCBs and PCBAs, including manufacturing release and build support.
• Competence with Altium or similar CAD tools, electronics laboratory equipment, and simulation tools such as LTSpice or PSpice.
• Technical leadership or management experience, strong communication, problem-solving, and hardware-debugging skills.
• Must work in Austin, Texas, and be able to travel up to 10% within the US and internationally.

Nice to have

• Experience with robotics or electronics for lightweight, space-constrained systems.
• Experience implementing embedded systems on robots and troubleshooting related hardware.
• Knowledge of AI accelerators or quantum computing.
