Principal Technical Program Manager (AI/ML)

Location: United States, Washington, Seattle

Salary: $231,000–$323,500 total cash annually, with potential pay up to $369,500 based on sustained performance

What you will do

• Define and drive end-to-end technical program strategies and roadmaps across multiple teams and services.
• Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from discovery through delivery, including requirements, dependencies, risks, and phased execution.
• Partner with engineering, product, data, and operations leaders on scalable architectures, APIs, and data models.
• Establish program governance, metrics, and operating mechanisms to monitor health and improve delivery quality.
• Integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions within technical programs.
• Influence technical and organizational strategy by aligning stakeholders and promoting extensible, reusable solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Typically 10+ years of experience in technical program management or related technical leadership, including ownership of multi-team or multi-service programs.
• Experience leading complex software development initiatives involving system design, low-level design, API design, and data modeling.
• Ability to define scope, drive execution across engineering teams, manage technical dependencies, and deliver reliable, scalable production services.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, data flows, and integration patterns.
• Strong executive communication skills and experience working with senior engineering leaders are preferred.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a technical field and/or equivalent experience.
• Experience supporting VP/SVP-level engineering leadership in a chief-of-staff or senior program management capacity.
• Experience establishing business reviews, organizational health forums, annual planning, and continuous improvement processes.
• Experience automating repetitive work with modern tools, workflows, or lightweight software.
