Senior Network Engineer (Quantum Computing)

Location: Onsite at offices in Bothell, Washington; College Park, Maryland; or Boulder, Colorado. Hybrid and remote options may be available for the right candidate. U.S. export-control and government-contract restrictions apply, and candidates may need to qualify as a U.S. Person or obtain the required authorization.

Salary: $110,336–$144,459 base salary per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, and cloud network solutions.
• Deploy and operate highly available, resilient network environments supporting manufacturing facilities, quantum datacenters, research, and distributed engineering.
• Optimize network performance, capacity, reliability, monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting.
• Design and enforce security strategies covering firewalls, segmentation, zero trust, and VPNs.
• Drive network modernization, automation, technology evaluation, and vendor recommendations.
• Lead major incident response, root-cause analysis, documentation, standards, and compliance activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 6 years of progressive network engineering experience, including production network design and implementation.
• Deep experience with firewall and security platforms such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Cisco.
• Experience designing and supporting high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions.
• Strong experience with network monitoring, logging, and performance-analysis tools.
• Eligibility for U.S. export-control and government-contract work is required where applicable.

Nice to have

• 7 or more years of network and infrastructure engineering experience.
• CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, JNCIE, or equivalent certification.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, GCP, hybrid environments, SD-WAN, SASE, and zero-trust architectures.
• Network automation and scripting experience with Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Experience with load balancing, large-scale enterprise or multi-site environments, and CI/CD workflows.
