Senior Network Systems Engineer (Industrial Networking)

Location: On-site in San Jose, California, or Devens, Massachusetts; hybrid accommodations may be possible for a highly qualified candidate.

Salary: $155,000–$182,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain secure, resilient enterprise networks across offices, manufacturing facilities, data centers, and cloud environments.
• Support campus, WAN, wireless, VPN, data center, hybrid cloud, and VMware networking.
• Develop VLAN, routing, firewall, network segmentation, Zero Trust, IDS/IPS, and secure remote access architectures.
• Configure, monitor, troubleshoot, and improve switches, routers, firewalls, wireless systems, load balancers, NAC, and VPN platforms.
• Ensure high availability, redundancy, disaster recovery, and business continuity for critical network infrastructure.
• Partner with Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, Cloud Infrastructure, Manufacturing Engineering, and vendors; provide Tier III escalation support and mentor junior IT staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure.
• Strong experience with enterprise routing and switching, VLANs, routing protocols, VPNs, firewall policies, and network segmentation.
• Hands-on administration of Fortinet and Cisco platforms, including FortiGate, FortiManager, Cisco switches, routers, and wireless infrastructure.
• Experience with VMware networking, network monitoring, troubleshooting, performance analysis, enterprise cybersecurity, and Zero Trust networking.
• Strong documentation, communication, and project management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting manufacturing, Operational Technology, SCADA, industrial automation, or industrial control networks.
• Familiarity with Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP, OPC UA, DNP3, IEC 62443, or NIST SP 800-82.
• Experience with Fortinet Secure SD-WAN, FortiAnalyzer, or FortiAuthenticator.
• Certifications such as CCNP Enterprise, CCIE, Fortinet NSE/FCP/FCSS, CISSP, or GICSP.
