Network Engineer - Intermediate (Networking)

What you will do

• Design, implement, test, troubleshoot, and maintain complex LAN, WAN, ICAN, wireless, voice, SONET, and secure network infrastructure.
• Install, configure, upgrade, and support routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, servers, SANs, multiplexers, cabling, and related network equipment.
• Analyze network performance metrics, support architecture improvements, and maintain configuration management and reporting.
• Respond to critical and VIP incidents through Remedy, provide outage triage, and support customer and government network operations.
• Implement security patches, antivirus updates, PKI certificates, SSL, CAC authentication, and other information assurance controls.
• Support COMSEC operations, including cryptographic key handling, OTAR, device configuration, inventory, and documentation.

Requirements

• Secret security clearance is mandatory.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• At least three years of relevant network engineering experience.
• IAT Level II certification is required.
• CompTIA Security+ certification is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to support government customers and senior officials.

Nice to have

• CompTIA A+, Network+, MCSA, MCSE, CCENT, CCNA, CCNP, or VMware Certified Professional certifications.
• In-depth knowledge of the customer’s communications networks and systems.
