TL;DR
Systems Engineer - Requirements Management (Nuclear): Supporting safety-related reactor systems for the Aalo-X advanced microreactor with an accent on requirements management, lifecycle support, systems analysis, and nuclear safety compliance. Focus on maintaining traceable and verifiable design requirements, performing engineering calculations and testing, and improving configuration and design documentation processes.

Location: Must be based in the United States and willing to work on-site at the headquarters in Austin, Texas. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or U.S. Persons in compliance with 10 CFR Part 810 and may not hold non-compliant foreign citizenships.

What you will do

  • Lead and develop requirements-management processes for the design team.
  • Maintain design requirements for completeness, correctness, verifiability, and traceability.
  • Oversee and recommend design improvements for advanced microreactor demonstrators.
  • Ensure systems meet national consensus safety standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Perform engineering calculations, specifications, system analyses, and testing.
  • Manage configuration changes and design documentation while collaborating with program managers and lead engineers.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in systems-engineering lifecycle practices based on INCOSE, NASA, or DoD frameworks.
  • Experience with requirements management, SEMP development, configuration management tools, and systems-engineering toolchains.
  • Familiarity with PLM/ALM platforms, relational databases, version control systems, and requirements tools such as DOORS, DOORS Next Generation, or Jama Connect.
  • Experience assessing and improving engineering processes, including continuous improvement initiatives.
  • BS in systems, nuclear, mechanical, aerospace, chemical engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of relevant experience, or an MS with 3–6 years; experience with safety-related reactor systems in a nuclear power environment is required.
