Microreactor System Engineer III-IV (Nuclear Systems)

Location: Gaithersburg, Maryland, United States; 4 days in office. Hours are 8:00am–5:00pm ET, Monday–Friday, with up to 10% travel as needed.

Salary: Level III $120,000–$145,000 per year; Level IV $145,000–$170,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead systems engineering lifecycle activities, including stakeholder analysis, requirements decomposition, functional analysis, architecture development, interface management, and product definition.
• Develop and maintain system behavior models using MBSE tools within PLM frameworks.
• Coordinate design integration, testing, system verification, and validation.
• Identify technical risks, develop mitigation strategies, and support value engineering and cost-reduction analyses.
• Prepare engineering documentation and communicate technical details and project progress to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Guide junior engineers and lead small groups solving complex technical problems across engineering disciplines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering or a related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Level III: typically 5 years of engineering experience; Level IV: typically 10 years. Advanced degrees may substitute for part of the experience requirement.
• Experience with systems engineering software tools.
• Knowledge or experience in at least one area of ISO 15288 lifecycle processes, requirements management, system design, interface management, integration and testing, or verification and validation.
• Experience with MBSE tools, PLM systems, or related methods, such as Teamcenter PLM, Cameo, Capella, Genesys, SysML, or DOORS.
• Must work from the United States office location with regular onsite attendance.
