TL;DR
Systems Engineer (Nuclear Systems): Designing, integrating, and managing complex nuclear fuel production systems across their full lifecycle with an accent on requirements management, MBSE, configuration control, and verification and validation. Focus on coordinating multi-system integration, managing RVTMs and acceptance testing, and ensuring compliance with NRC and DOE requirements.
Location: Oak Ridge, Tennessee, United States; 5 days a week in the office
Salary: $115,000–$170,000 per year for Level III–IV. Other listed ranges are $70,000–$95,000 for Level I and $90,000–$115,000 for Level II.

What you will do
- Lead systems engineering lifecycle activities for complex nuclear fuel production systems, from concept through operations.
- Define and maintain engineering procedures covering design control, configuration management, verification and validation, and quality assurance.
- Manage requirements decomposition, traceability, system architecture, interfaces, design integration, and change control.
- Develop system behavior models using MBSE tools and maintain product lifecycle management data.
- Plan and oversee verification activities, including requirements verification matrices, test plans, Factory Acceptance Testing, and Site Acceptance Testing.
- Coordinate cross-functional engineering work, assess technical risks, and resolve stakeholder concerns through systematic problem-solving.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering or a related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Knowledge of systems lifecycle processes, including ISO 15288, stakeholder and operational analysis, requirements management, system design, interface management, integration, testing, and V&V.
- Experience with MBSE, systems modeling and simulation, PLM, configuration management, change control, and technical risk management.
- Experience with tools such as Teamcenter PLM, Cameo, Capella, Genesys, SysML, or DOORS.
- Level III typically requires five years of engineering experience; Level IV typically requires ten years and experience with systems engineering software tools.
- Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; travel is approximately 10%.

- Experience managing requirements with JAMA and workflows with JIRA.
- Experience developing engineering procedures.
- ASEP or CSEP certification.
