Location: Onsite at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City, OK; conditions also state remote work excluding North Dakota, Vermont, and Rhode Island. US citizenship and an active DoD Secret Clearance are required.
Salary: $120,500–$190,000 annually. For specific locations in the San Jose, San Francisco Bay Area, and New York City metropolitan area: $149,500–$224,500 annually.

What you will do
- Install, test, operate, and monitor satellite communications equipment supporting US DOD aviation customers.
- Provide frontline field support and act as a liaison with program management, systems, software, RF, electrical, mechanical, production, testing, and technical publications teams.
- Train system operators and maintain work orders, field service reports, weekly status reports, application notes, equipment configurations, and knowledge base content.
- Use network access and monitoring tools to investigate flights of interest, parse logs, and resolve service or performance issues.
- Monitor software and hardware releases, identify potential latent defects, and report customer use cases.
- Participate in a 24/7 support team and provide up to 50% travel.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with IP-based military or commercial SATCOM systems.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, ASA/firewalls, IP encryption devices, and other networking equipment.
- Fundamental knowledge of satellite communications and RF transmission theory.
- Strong communication, analytical, critical-thinking, and customer-service skills.
- Experience with ticketing systems and meticulous technical documentation.
- SEC+CE certification must be obtained within 180 days; US citizenship, an active DoD Secret Clearance, an associate degree in a technical field or equivalent experience, and willingness to support 24/7 on-call responsibilities are required.
Nice to have
- Experience with mobile broadband communications, tracking antennas, test equipment, electronic principles, and communications theory.
- Airborne communications experience as a communications systems operator, airborne maintenance technician, airborne systems engineer, or radar/communications/mission operator.
- Linux command-line experience.
- Experience creating technical documentation, training materials, service bulletins, and procedures.
- A bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience.
