Principle Associate Engineer, Reliability Lab (Semiconductor Reliability)

What you will do

• Lead daily reliability lab operations and prioritize testing for qualification, monitoring, change requests, customer support, and line-issue investigations.
• Maintain test equipment uptime through preventive and corrective maintenance, calibration readiness, spare-parts planning, and tool health monitoring.
• Lead troubleshooting, fault recovery, root-cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, restart verification, and resolution of recurring failures.
• Coordinate vendors and external service providers for repairs, parts replacement, escalations, quotations, and post-service verification.
• Track lab and equipment KPIs, including uptime, downtime, utilization, MTBF, MTTR, preventive-maintenance completion, calibration completion, and repeat faults.
• Coach engineers, technicians, and new hires while collaborating with reliability, quality, equipment, facilities, manufacturing, and planning teams.

Requirements

• Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience in semiconductor or reliability lab operations, test equipment, equipment maintenance, or equipment engineering.
• Hands-on experience with reliability test equipment, environmental test systems, probers, testers, burn-in systems, chambers, ovens, or automated laboratory and manufacturing tools.
• Experience leading preventive and corrective maintenance, fault recovery, maintenance documentation, and verification of equipment restarts.
• Working knowledge of reliability testing, qualification support, change requests, line-issue support, QMS, audit readiness, calibration, ESD, 6S, and safety requirements.
• Ability to guide technicians, Associate Engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders through clear technical communication and documentation.

Nice to have

• Experience in an accredited, labor-regulated manufacturing environment.
• Exposure to wafer-, package-, or product-level reliability equipment, including probers, testers, SMU systems, Qualitau platforms, burn-in systems, ovens, chambers, HAST/THB, temperature cycling, and pre-conditioning tools.
• Familiarity with JEDEC, ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ESD, calibration, and audit requirements.
• Experience with vendor scorecards, service reviews, recurring fault escalations, repair quotations, or technical reviews.
• Training or certification in Lean Six Sigma, 8D, RCA, FMEA, equipment maintenance, calibration, ESD, safety, reliability engineering, or maintenance and reliability programs.
