Senior Engineer, Manufacturing (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Lead manufacturing engineering activities for assigned aircraft systems from prototype development through full-rate production.
• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, production methods, assembly sequences, tooling, fixtures, jigs, and manufacturing aids.
• Support prototype builds, production readiness, first article inspections, new product introductions, and production ramp-up.
• Partner with Design Engineering on Design for Manufacturing and Assembly, engineering changes, drawings, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues through root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Program Management, and suppliers while mentoring other engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience with complex aerospace, defense, automotive, robotics, or advanced manufacturing products.
• Experience developing manufacturing processes, tooling, and production methods for complex assemblies.
• Knowledge of machining, composites, electrical assemblies, precision mechanical assemblies, or final system integration.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as CATIA, Siemens NX, SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent.
• Experience with prototype builds, production ramp-up, NPI, DFM/DFA, engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing documentation.

Nice to have

• Experience with military, commercial aerospace, defense, automotive, or advanced manufacturing programs.
• Experience in AS9100, ISO 9001, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, ERP, MES, PLM, robotics, or automated manufacturing equipment.
• Previous experience mentoring engineers or leading technical projects.
