Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace & Defense)

Location: Gardena, California, United States; onsite manufacturing and production work.

What you will do

• Develop and optimize manufacturing workflows, tooling, fixtures, assembly aids, and production processes.
• Create build documentation, including work instructions, travelers, and visual aids.
• Work directly with technicians, assemblers, and engineers on the manufacturing floor to streamline builds and resolve issues.
• Support prototype and production builds and partner with contract manufacturers and internal teams to scale production.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions for production failures and field returns.
• Collaborate with design engineering on DFM/DFA and design-for-reliability practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a similar technical field.
• 7+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality, or reliability engineering, preferably in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability hardware.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, or similar software.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical or electromechanical system builds and test setups.
• Knowledge of DFM/DFA, root cause analysis, FMEA/PFMEA, SPC, and reliability and quality methodologies.
• Must meet U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements: U.S. citizenship or nationality, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylee status, or eligibility to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience designing custom fixtures, tooling, and assembly aids.
• Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, or MIL-STD compliance.
• Experience with ERP/MRP and PLM systems such as NetSuite, Odoo, or Arena.
