TL;DR
Associate Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing): Developing and scaling reliable hardware production processes from prototype through full-rate manufacturing with an accent on tooling, fixtures, build documentation, and quality control. Focus on root cause analysis, DFM/DFA, statistical process control, and validating mechanical and electromechanical builds in a mission-critical environment.

Location: Onsite in El Segundo, California, United States. ITAR eligibility is required: U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

What you will do

  • Define and implement reliable hardware production processes from prototype through full-rate manufacturing.
  • Participate in prototype and production builds to validate processes, tooling, fixtures, and assembly instructions.
  • Lead root cause analyses and corrective and preventive actions for production failures and field returns.
  • Develop manufacturing workflows, custom fixtures, assembly aids, and build documentation.
  • Collaborate with design engineering, technicians, assemblers, contract manufacturers, and internal teams to scale production and resolve issues.
  • Define inspection plans, in-line and end-of-line testing, statistical process control, traceability, and quality compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, electrical, manufacturing engineering, or a similar technical field.
  • 0–1 years of experience in manufacturing, quality, or reliability engineering; aerospace, defense, or high-reliability hardware experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD using SolidWorks, Creo, or similar tools.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical or electromechanical system builds and test setups.
  • Knowledge of DFM/DFA, root cause analysis, FMEA/PFMEA, SPC, and other quality and reliability methods.
  • Comfort working with ERP/MRP and PLM systems such as NetSuite, Odoo, or Arena, plus strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

  • Prior manufacturing, quality, or reliability engineering internship experience.
  • Experience designing fixtures, tooling, and assembly aids.
