Associate Engineer, Manufacturing (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for aerospace systems and assigned products.
• Design and improve assembly tools, fixtures, jigs, manufacturing aids, and production support equipment using CAD.
• Create work instructions, standard operating procedures, process flows, and other manufacturing documentation.
• Partner with Design Engineering on Design for Manufacturing and Assembly, manufacturability, quality, cost, and assembly efficiency.
• Support prototype and engineering builds, new product introduction, production readiness, tooling validation, first article inspections, and process qualification.
• Troubleshoot production issues through root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions while improving safety, quality, throughput, and productivity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 0–3 years of experience in manufacturing, production, process engineering, or a related field; internships and co-ops are considered.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, assembly methods, and production operations.
• Familiarity with CAD software such as CATIA, Siemens NX, SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing documentation.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, robotics, advanced manufacturing, prototype builds, NPI, or production environments.
• Familiarity with machining, composites, electrical or mechanical assemblies, and final system integration.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience with ERP, MES, or PLM systems.
• Familiarity with AS9100 or other regulated manufacturing environments.
