Production Manager (Robotics)

hirify.global is a defense startup developing autonomous gun turrets that use computer vision and control systems to target small drones and loitering munitions.

What you will do

• Drive the daily manufacturing schedule to meet delivery milestones for defense and commercial partners.
• Hire, train, and lead production technicians and planners.
• Manage digital production workflows in Odoo, including manufacturing orders, work centers, bills of materials, inventory movements, and work orders.
• Optimize throughput across the Austin facility, from sub-assembly production through turret acceptance testing.
• Implement and enforce QA/QC protocols with the Quality Manager and address process or team underperformance.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Supply Chain to resolve assembly bottlenecks and apply design-for-manufacturing feedback.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in manufacturing or production management involving complex electromechanical hardware, such as robotics, aerospace, or automotive systems.
• Proven experience managing production teams in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
• Deep ERP experience for managing bills of materials, inventory, and work orders; Odoo experience is highly preferred.
• Ability to read technical drawings and oversee assembly of high-tolerance robotic components.
• Strong operational problem-solving skills and accountability for production deadlines.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling production from hand-built prototypes to standardized high-volume output.
• Defense industry knowledge, particularly for hardware deployed at the tactical edge.
• Practical experience applying lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
