Manufacturing Engineer (Automotive)

What you will do

• Develop, validate, and scale manufacturing processes for automotive components and assemblies, including robotic metal forming.
• Convert Engineering BOMs into Manufacturing BOMs and support fabrication, assembly, routing, and material flow.
• Design jigs, fixtures, tooling, work-cell layouts, and integrated mechanical systems using CAD and engineering analysis.
• Create work instructions, assembly procedures, method sheets, routings, and in-process documentation.
• Support production planning, work orders, scheduling, material tracking, cost estimates, and time standards through ERP/MRP systems.
• Improve manufacturability, quality, throughput, and process consistency while troubleshooting issues with production and engineering teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of manufacturing or operations engineering experience in hands-on production environments.
• Experience with low- to mid-volume production, process stabilization, scaling operations, ECOs, and process improvements.
• Strong experience with BOM structures, including EBOM-to-MBOM conversion.
• Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD, including production fixture and tooling design; experience with simulations and FEA.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment design, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, work instructions, routings, and assembly procedures.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and the ability to collaborate across engineering, production, and leadership teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with robotic or automated manufacturing cells, incremental sheet forming, or related advanced metal-forming technologies.
• Automotive component fabrication, prototype-to-production transitions, or automotive assembly integration experience.
• Experience with machining, precision low-volume manufacturing, or general sheet-metal fabrication.
