Director, Supplier Quality and Development (Aerospace Manufacturing)

Location: Los Angeles, California, United States; on-site

Salary: $190,000–$270,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Lead and grow the supplier quality and development team.
• Build the quality management system and compliance framework for external supply, including AS9100 and maritime requirements.
• Own supplier quality performance, including FAI, CAPA, and PFMEA discipline.
• Develop foundries and machine shops through hands-on supplier engagement.
• Manage supplier on-time delivery and risk across mechanical commodities.
• Travel regularly to supplier facilities.

Requirements

• Experience in supplier quality or supplier development within aerospace, naval, marine, or transferable defense hard-goods manufacturing.
• Strong experience with FAI, CAPA, and PFMEA.
• Proven people leadership and experience building teams.
• Experience establishing supplier quality processes and systems at a startup or high-growth company.
• Six Sigma Black Belt or formal Lean certification.
• Must meet U.S. Government ITAR eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship or nationality, lawful permanent residence, protected individual status, or eligibility to obtain required authorizations.

Nice to have

• DoD or ITAR program exposure.
• Working knowledge of NAVSEA requirements, SUBSAFE, and weld/NDT quality.
