Software Quality Engineer II (Aerospace)

Location: Redondo Beach, United States; onsite. Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain an export license under ITAR/EAR regulations.

Salary: $145,000–$170,000 per year, plus potential stock options and benefits.

What you will do

• Define and document software development, configuration management, and test processes for customers and stakeholders.
• Create functional, integration, system, and user acceptance test plans.
• Define tests for automated testing pipelines and verify release candidates pass testing.
• Support software documentation, customer deliveries, and release coordination.
• Collaborate with developers through code reviews and CI/CD pipelines to improve quality and feedback cycles.
• Define quality metrics and dashboards and evaluate compliance with software development processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or another technical discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance or test automation.
• Proficiency in C, C++, and/or Python.
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and experience tailoring software development processes.
• Experience writing or editing software user documentation and working with Git repositories and artifacts.
• Experience producing or testing high-quality software in a CI/CD pipeline.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with MIL-STD-498 or SMC-S-012.
• 5+ years of experience with AS9100 processes.
• 3+ years of software quality engineering experience supporting satellite, spacecraft, constellation, or launch vehicle testing.
• Experience with static analysis tools and risk management frameworks.
