TL;DR
Test Engineer (I or II) (Aerospace Defense Testing): Planning and executing component- and system-level test campaigns for aerospace defense systems with an accent on environmental testing, instrumentation, data acquisition, and verification requirements. Focus on analyzing test data, investigating anomalies, improving test automation, and maintaining rigorous safety and configuration-control standards.

Location: Fully onsite at the Centennial, Colorado office; the posting also lists Denver, Colorado.

Base salary: $70,000–$110,000 for Test Engineer I or $80,000–$130,000 for Test Engineer II, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

  • Plan, set up, execute, and document component- and system-level tests across mechanical, electrical, and environmental domains.
  • Develop and maintain test procedures, plans, reports, and data packages aligned with engineering and program requirements.
  • Execute test procedures, collect and validate data, and follow safety, quality, and configuration-control standards.
  • Analyze test results, document anomalies, and support root-cause investigations with cross-functional teams.
  • Coordinate verification and validation activities with design, systems, manufacturing, and quality teams.
  • Participate in test readiness reviews, pre-test briefings, post-test debriefs, and continuous improvement of testing methods and tooling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Test Engineer I: 0–1 years of academic or industry experience in testing, validation, or laboratory work.
  • Test Engineer II: 2–4+ years of hands-on aerospace or defense test engineering experience, or a relevant master’s degree and experience.
  • Knowledge of test equipment, instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and test scripting or automation.
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation, communication, and adherence to safety protocols.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to government contracts and ITAR requirements.

Nice to have

  • Environmental testing experience, including vibration, thermal, shock, TVAC, or EMI/EMC.
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-810 or DO-160 aerospace and defense standards.
  • Experience with LabVIEW, MATLAB, or Python for data analysis or automation.
  • Experience with failure investigations, root-cause analysis, or non-conformance tracking.
  • Active DoD clearance or ability to obtain one.
