Mechanical Design Engineer (Automation)

What you will do

• Design and develop mechanical systems for internal factory automation solutions, from concept studies and risk assessments through detailed design, prototyping, and testing.
• Define mechanical architecture, component placement, CAD database structures, and platform standardization.
• Perform component sizing, calculations, selection, and mechanical BOM cost estimation.
• Create detailed 2D part and assembly drawings, 3D models, and procurement BOMs.
• Conduct engineering, characterization, cyclic, and reliability tests and coordinate mechanical test cases.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, suppliers, design partners, and contract manufacturers; support implementation and commissioning at hirify.global sites globally.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
• At least 8 years of relevant mechanical design experience in a factory automation environment.
• Experience designing automation systems, mechanisms, injection-molded plastics, extrusions, elastomeric parts, sheet-metal parts, metal stampings, interconnects, electromechanical parts, and EMI shielding.
• Strong technical, analytical, troubleshooting, communication, leadership, influencing, and planning skills.
• Ability to work independently, multitask, and collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
• Ability to travel occasionally to hirify.global sites across the globe based on project needs.
