R&D Mechanical Design Engineer

What you will do

• Design engineering solutions, product designs, and assemblies for production, meeting functionality, reliability, safety, performance, cost, and schedule requirements.
• Develop and implement parameters and test plans for new and existing designs, including tolerance, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, reliability, fan curve, power, and acoustics validation.
• Lead mechanical hardware engineering project teams and coordinate internal and outsourced development partners.
• Manage supplier and outsourced-partner relationships, including deliverables, quality, schedules, costs, and communication.
• Improve processes, maintain quality documentation, manage projects, and resolve technical issues.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced staff members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated competence.
• Typically 4–10 years of experience in engineering design, hardware development lifecycle implementation, or a related field; an advanced degree with 3–5 years of relevant experience may also qualify.
• Comprehensive understanding of mechanical engineering concepts and principles.
• Experience developing reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality engineering solutions.
