Senior Manager of Capital Cost Management (Nuclear Energy)

Location: Santa Clara, California, or remote within the United States. Remote employees must travel to the Santa Clara headquarters twice per quarter based on business or team needs, and must work onsite there for the first two weeks of onboarding.

Salary: $185,000–$205,000 annually, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and scale capital project budgeting and cost architecture across FOAK and NOAK nuclear infrastructure projects.
• Establish standardized cost breakdown structures, work breakdown structures, cost taxonomies, and governance frameworks.
• Develop cost improvement frameworks, benchmarking practices, and structured systems for capturing cost learnings across projects.
• Drive detailed project budgets aligned with estimates, scope, resources, schedules, procurement strategies, and capital planning.
• Strengthen owner-side cost visibility and transparency to support vendor and contractor strategy development.
• Define and implement integrations between project financial planning, reporting, project management, and ERP systems.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in capital project budgeting, cost architecture, or project controls leadership in power, energy, infrastructure, industrial, or nuclear sectors.
• Experience designing cost breakdown structures and capital cost taxonomies for large portfolios, including projects valued at $100M+.
• Strong knowledge of project cost systems, job costing, ERP integration, and capital governance frameworks.
• Experience supporting large-scale EPC or construction projects and developing owner-side cost control maturity.
• Experience with portfolio cost optimization, benchmarking, cost-driver analysis, and structured cost learning systems.
• Proven ability to collaborate with engineering, construction, procurement, finance, executive leadership, and boards.

Nice to have

• Experience with nuclear or other FOAK energy infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with DOE, NRC, EPA, and OSHA environments.
• Experience structuring cost systems for IRA ITC eligibility and compliance tracking.
• Startup or high-growth company experience.
