Controller (Nuclear Energy)

Location: Los Angeles, CA; onsite full-time. Hybrid and remote work will not be considered.

Salary: $160,000–$230,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead financial close and reporting activities in compliance with US GAAP, CAS, and applicable regulations.
• Own the Cost Accounting Standards compliance framework, including Disclosure Statements and compliant cost accumulation and allocation methodologies.
• Serve as the primary liaison for external audits and regulatory reviews, maintaining audit-ready documentation.
• Design and maintain accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, ERP infrastructure, and integrated accounting tools.
• Support pricing, cost proposals, contract compliance, indirect rates, and financial analysis.
• Hire and lead the accounting team while partnering with executives and cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting experience at a Big Four, mid-tier, or regional firm.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards and cost accounting practices.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP, internal control frameworks, and external audit support.
• Hands-on experience with ERP and accounting systems, advanced Excel skills, and strong systems aptitude.
• Willingness to work onsite in Los Angeles full-time and work extended hours or weekends as needed.

Nice to have

• Experience in a manufacturing or technology environment.
• Advanced Excel, applied business statistics, and complex non-linear systems modeling experience.
• Familiarity with SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting and analysis tools.
• Strong presentation skills and experience communicating analytical results across multidisciplinary organizations.
