Head of Broker & Partnerships Reserving (Maternity Cover)

Location: Hybrid in London, with office attendance once a week; occasional travel to the Eastleigh office is required. Flexible working is available within the UK.

Salary: £100,000–£132,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead actuarial reserve setting across Motor and Home portfolios, including assumptions, methodologies, and reporting outputs.
• Own movement analysis, portfolio performance commentary, and reserving committee papers.
• Deliver segment-level claims analysis and identify emerging trends.
• Ensure reserving controls and key risk indicator reporting comply with governance frameworks.
• Lead, develop, and allocate work across actuarial professionals and manage delivery through reserving cycles.
• Partner with Actuarial, Claims, Underwriting, Pricing, and Finance stakeholders, while supporting audit and regulatory engagement.

Requirements

• Significant General Insurance reserving experience with end-to-end ownership of reserving cycles.
• At least seven years of actuarial experience in a General Insurance environment.
• Strong technical expertise in reserving assumptions, methodologies, controls, and governance.
• Proven experience leading, managing, and developing high-performing actuarial teams, including people managers and team leaders.
• Ability to communicate complex actuarial insight clearly to senior stakeholders.
• Collaborative leadership style with a focus on technical rigour, accountability, and continuous improvement.
