Pricing Actuary (Commercial General Insurance)

Location: Manchester, United Kingdom or London, United Kingdom; hybrid work with an expectation of being in the office at least three days per week.

Salary: GBP 68,000–102,000 annually in London or GBP 56,000–84,000 annually in Manchester, plus performance-based variable compensation.

What you will do

• Work independently on complex case pricing, specializing in Alternative Risk Transfer structures.
• Build portfolio insight capabilities to improve financial performance management and profitability analysis.
• Analyze portfolios using diverse data sources and statistical techniques.
• Communicate analytical findings to underwriters, Portfolio Managers, Reserving Actuaries, Finance, and other stakeholders.
• Execute actuarial rate reviews and update costing parameters in hirify.global-developed models.
• Develop and enhance actuarial models through project work.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or numerical subject from a recognized university.
• Significant experience in an actuarial position, ideally in a long-tail line of business.
• Experience pricing large transactions with complex structures, including Alternative Risk Transfer.
• Qualified Actuary or on track to qualification.
• Excellent MS Excel skills and proficiency in R, Python, or SQL.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas to diverse audiences.
