Senior Renewable Energy Underwriter

What you will do

• Source and underwrite new renewable energy business to meet profitability targets.
• Develop, manage, and maintain a profitable book of renewable energy accounts.
• Apply underwriting authorities, guidelines, and functional rules within the Energy governance framework.
• Oversee submission data and historical loss results for the portfolio.
• Coordinate Market Management, Risk Consulting, Claims, and Operations involvement in the underwriting process.
• Manage referrals, conduct four-eye reviews, develop regional strategy, maintain broker and client relationships, issue accurate policy documentation, and support junior underwriters.

Requirements

• Extensive experience underwriting profitable renewable energy business within large corporate international insurance.
• Experienced Power or Construction underwriters with renewable energy exposure may also be considered.
• Established relationships with peer-level clients and brokers.
• Specialized knowledge of regional and local Renewable, Engineering, and Construction insurance markets and competitor landscapes.
• Ability to use data and analytics to improve business effectiveness, understand legal and regulatory requirements, and develop robust contract wordings.
• Excellent negotiation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
