Head Mortality Pricing and Portfolio Management - L&H; UK & Ireland (Hybrid, 80-100% FTE)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid work with an expectation of at least three days per week in the office

Base salary: £92,000–£138,000 per year, plus performance-based variable compensation and applicable benefits.

What you will do

• Build trusted relationships with client pricing and reinsurance teams across new business and portfolio monitoring.
• Lead Terms of Trade development and management for UK and Ireland Life & Health protection products, primarily individual and group mortality.
• Develop robust, evidence-based pricing assumptions aligned with portfolio experience and market strategy.
• Lead pricing for traditional reinsurance tenders and own recommendations and sign-off within agreed authority.
• Monitor and optimise the in-force portfolio, including rate reviews, recaptures, and benefit changes.
• Represent the local mortality portfolio in global forums and lead a team of three.

Requirements

• Qualified actuary with FIA, FFA, FSA, or equivalent certification and several years of post-qualification experience.
• Strong knowledge of Life & Health reinsurance markets, products, trends, and mortality pricing.
• In-depth understanding of mortality risk, modelling, analysis, and mortality improvement frameworks.
• Strong statistical and actuarial modelling skills.
• Experience with Python, R, and Power BI, including DAX or PowerPivot.
• Strong communication, influencing, client-facing, judgement, and decision-making skills.
