Senior Manager, Accounting

Location: New York, United States; remote

Salary: $140,000–$160,000 per year

What you will do

• Manage complex corporate accounting areas, including internal-use software capitalization, hosting, leases, intercompany transactions, and intangible assets.
• Support accounting for subscription, text messaging, and advertising revenue streams.
• Prepare and review reconciliations, rollforwards, variance analyses, and other accounting analyses.
• Research accounting guidance, including ASC 350-40, ASC 606, and ASC 842, and maintain technical memoranda.
• Implement AI tools and automation, redesign spreadsheet workflows, and maintain audit- and SOX-ready process documentation.
• Support interim and year-end audits while managing, coaching, and reviewing the work of 1–2 accounting professionals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 4+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting or a combination of public and industry experience.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge covering revenue recognition, internal-use software, and leases.
• Experience with reconciliations, rollforwards, financial analysis, process improvement, automation, internal controls, and audits.
• Advanced Excel skills and the ability to collaborate with accounting professionals at different skill levels.

Nice to have

• CPA certification.
• Experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP system.
• Experience in SaaS or startup environments.
• Exposure to international accounting or multi-entity structures.
