Patient Access Specialist pt

Location: Onsite at Tower - Reading Hospital in Wyomissing, PA

Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour, based on experience

What you will do

• Perform admitting, preregistration, and patient access duties for hospital services.
• Assign accurate medical record numbers, collect demographic and insurance information, and process physician orders.
• Verify insurance eligibility, select insurance plan codes, enter benefit data, and support point-of-service collections and clean claims.
• Explain treatment consents, Medicare and Tricare notices, observation forms, ABNs, and other patient documents; obtain required signatures.
• Conduct medical necessity and compliance checks, account audits, corrections, and reporting.
• Operate the telephone switchboard and provide compassionate customer service to patients, guarantors, colleagues, and departments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Ability to work onsite at Tower - Reading Hospital in Wyomissing, PA.
• Inquisitive approach and openness to innovation, including AI-enabled process improvements.
• CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire; certification is company-paid.
