Senior Technical Staff, Field Applications Engineering (Semiconductors)

Location: Seoul, South Korea; approximately 30% travel to customer sites and GF fabs in Asia, the United States, and Europe.

What you will do

• Serve as a senior technical interface for customers in Security IC, MCU, and DDIC application areas.
• Develop technical presentations, proposals, benchmarks, and solution recommendations for customer evaluations.
• Support customer design-in activities from initial technology evaluation through tapeout readiness and design-win closure.
• Translate customer requirements into GF process, IP, PDK, and design-enablement recommendations.
• Identify technical risks, enablement gaps, and execution bottlenecks, coordinating their resolution with internal experts.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product Marketing, Design Enablement, Technology Development, Quality, and Operations teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8–12 years of semiconductor experience in IC design, system design, foundry customer interface, application engineering, or IC/system test.
• Strong understanding of semiconductor process technologies, design rules, design-enablement flows, IP, PDKs, and EDA tools.
• Experience with customer design-in activities, technical evaluations, or design-win execution.
• Strong technical communication, presentation, organization, influencing, and customer-facing skills.
• Ability to work across global and cross-functional teams and travel approximately 30%.

Nice to have

• Experience with Security IC, secure element, smart card, payment, ID, or eSIM products.
• Experience with MCU platforms for automotive, industrial, consumer, or IoT applications.
• Experience with DDIC, display drivers, timing controllers, OLED/LCD displays, or high-voltage analog products.
• Knowledge of embedded NVM technologies such as eFlash or MRAM.
• Experience with automotive-grade requirements, reliability qualification, or quality standards.
