Senior Network Engineer

Location: Adelaide, Australia; hybrid work with onsite attendance at customer premises or the DXC office at least 2–3 days per week

What you will do

• Deliver network projects, including planning, implementation, and rollout activities.
• Design, implement, and operate network solutions for federal and state government accounts.
• Act as a technical authority and coordinate implementation activities with project managers and stakeholders.
• Provide technical support during incidents, including major incidents and scheduled after-hours activities.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with L2/L3 network engineering teams.
• Communicate project status, risks, issues, and change requests to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of network engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in Cisco data centre and enterprise networking technologies.
• Solid understanding of LAN and WAN fundamentals, Cisco VXLAN, and data centre networking architectures.
• Experience with Cisco ISE, ASA/FirePower, load balancing, VPN gateways, and network security products.
• Experience managing major incidents, handling complex network challenges, and working within the ITILv3 service management framework.
• Minimum CCNP certification, with strong written, interpersonal, teamwork, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Cisco Nexus Dashboard, DNAC, SDWAN, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Check Point, F5, Netscaler, or OT network and security products.
• Network engineering or network design experience in state or federal government environments.
• CCIE or other industry-recognised vendor certifications.
