Senior Designated Support Engineer (Lustre)

Location: Remote in Australia; occasional travel and customer on-site work required

What you will do

• Support hirify.global’s largest and most critical customers and resolve issues on large-scale Lustre file systems.
• Work directly with customer administrators to diagnose problems and deliver timely solutions.
• Create test plans and procedures for customer upgrades and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with engineering by sharing customer feedback and use cases to improve product quality.
• Review product documentation, support customer training, and assist with internal tool development and maintenance.
• Participate in flexible weekly shifts, including weekends, and a one-week on-call team rotation.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in a similar technical role and 7+ years working with Lustre parallel filesystems in administration, implementation, or support.
• Strong knowledge of Linux architecture, storage systems, networking, and parallel file systems.
• Understanding of RAID, erasure coding, block storage, InfiniBand, Ethernet, IP, TCP, and routing.
• Extensive experience debugging and troubleshooting InfiniBand and Ethernet networks.
• Experience with shell and Python or Perl scripting, NAS protocols, and authentication protocols such as Active Directory and LDAP.
• Strong English communication and customer-facing skills are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with parallel filesystems such as Spectrum Scale or StorNext.
• Experience with NFS, CIFS, SMB, S3, FTP, or SFTP.
• Knowledge of a second language.
