Manager-Engineering (Wafer Fab)

Location: Lowell, Massachusetts, United States. Candidates must provide proof of US citizenship, permanent US residency, or protected-individual status under US export-control requirements.

Annual base salary: $91,000–$232,000, plus restricted stock units and quarterly bonuses.

What you will do

• Lead Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, and Yield Engineering teams within wafer fabrication operations.
• Align engineering and production objectives with Fab Production Operations, capacity plans, production schedules, and customer delivery requirements.
• Drive resolution of process excursions, equipment downtime, yield loss, and manufacturing disruptions.
• Lead yield enhancement, defect reduction, process stability, root-cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action initiatives.
• Improve equipment uptime, reliability, maintenance effectiveness, and preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
• Support tool qualifications, technology transfers, new process introductions, manufacturing scale-up, and fab engineering roadmap planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of semiconductor manufacturing experience in a wafer fabrication environment.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams in semiconductor operations.
• Strong knowledge of semiconductor fabrication processes, yield improvement, equipment engineering, and low-volume, high-mix manufacturing.
• Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and driving operational improvements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and organizational leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience managing multiple engineering disciplines simultaneously.
• Knowledge of SPC, FMEA, 8D, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience with discrete semiconductor technologies and assembly processes.
• Familiarity with MES, factory automation systems, and data analytics tools.
