Senior Insurance Authorization Specialist (Healthcare)

Location: Remote - Nationwide; candidates must be willing and able to travel to and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs require

Salary: $18.65–$23.50 per hour, based on experience

What you will do

• Support insurance authorization and verification for patients scheduled for healthcare services.
• Select accurate medical records, validate demographic and insurance information, and confirm active coverage.
• Identify required clinical documentation and submit authorization requests to insurance companies.
• Act as a liaison between ordering physicians and insurers to identify and communicate approval requirements.
• Support supervisors with escalated issues, workload distribution, and tracking system or process issues.
• Mentor and train new Insurance Authorization and Insurance Verification Specialists.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of relevant experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) certification required within 9 months of hire; certification is company-paid.
• Ability to meet accuracy, customer service, productivity, and regulatory compliance standards.
• Inquisitive approach and openness to innovation, including AI-assisted process improvement.
• Ability to work remotely nationwide and travel to client, temporary, or corporate offices when business needs require.
