Reimbursement Specialist (Authorizations Department) – M-F 8:30am-5:00pm (Hybrid)

Location: Pittsburgh, PA; hybrid schedule, Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Hourly pay: $19.50–$22.50

What you will do

• Initiate authorization requests for new and established patients.
• Communicate medical necessity and educate case managers about the LifeVest system to obtain service authorization.
• Work with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance carriers to authorize services and maintain coverage.
• Collect updated clinical information, progress notes, testing, and payer forms required for continued authorization.
• Coordinate with clients, physician offices, and sales representatives to obtain and relay documentation.
• Follow up weekly with insurers, physicians, and sales staff regarding authorization decisions and outstanding information.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• 4–6 years of experience in medical insurance verification.
• 1–3 years of experience working with Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party commercial insurers.
• Strong communication, customer service, phone presence, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under strict deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Teams, email programs, and online data systems.
