Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Belgium — Remote

What you will do

• Design and develop aesthetically pleasing products combining plastic and electronic components for mass production.
• Build and test prototypes using 3D printing.
• Apply value analysis/value engineering, design for cost optimization, and design for assembly.
• Create 2D and 3D technical drawings and validate mechanical components and injection-moulded plastics.
• Design test fixtures and conduct environmental testing throughout product development.
• Maintain and optimize the current product line while communicating with part suppliers and EMS partners.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Product Development, Industrial Design, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Several years of experience designing plastics and injection-moulded parts combined with electronic components.
• Extensive knowledge of 3D CAD tools, preferably PTC Creo.
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
• English language skills; Dutch and/or French language skills are also required.
• Strong creativity, problem-solving ability, precision, attention to quality and detail, communication skills, and independent working ability.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of a product lifecycle management system such as PTC Windchill.
• Experience with 3D rendering software such as KeyShot.
