Project Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Christchurch, Dorset, United Kingdom; hybrid working with flexitime and a condensed work week depending on the role.

Develops sensors, solenoid valves, actuators, and other critical components for commercial, defense, industrial, and military aerospace platforms.

What you will do

• Lead engineering projects across the full lifecycle and through the NPI process to production readiness.
• Act as the main liaison between customers and the business, leading small project teams as required.
• Prepare design proposals, technical presentations, drawings, schedules, costs, and verification and validation activities.
• Generate and approve PDR/CDR design packages, manufacturing drawings, compliance matrices, and qualification test documentation.
• Support electro-mechanical product performance analysis and investigate environmental testing requirements.
• Resolve manufacturing and quality issues using technical judgement, engineering change processes, 8D, and non-conformance disposition.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering subject.
• Significant prior experience in a senior project engineering role within aerospace or a similar industry.
• Knowledge of environmental testing and proficiency with SolidWorks.
• Strong knowledge of BS8888, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and engineering drawing practices.
• Experience preparing verification and validation documentation and supporting production readiness.
• CEng or IEng registration is desirable.
