Staff Mechanical Design Engineer (Renewable Energy)

Location: Remote in Shanghai, China

What you will do

• Lead mechanical architecture and design strategy for complex product platforms and next-generation technologies.
• Provide technical leadership across multiple product development programs from concept through mass production.
• Drive innovation in product design, materials, manufacturing technologies, reliability, and cost optimization.
• Lead FEA, thermal, vibration, tolerance, validation, and system-level risk assessments.
• Establish design-for-manufacturing, design-for-assembly, design-to-cost, design-for-reliability, and design-for-serviceability practices.
• Partner with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and operations teams while mentoring engineers and resolving complex technical issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive mechanical product development experience.
• Experience leading complex products through the full development lifecycle and mass production.
• Advanced expertise in mechanical design, FEA, materials engineering, reliability, and manufacturing processes, including high-volume stamping and roll forming.
• Strong understanding of global manufacturing operations and supplier development.
• Proven multidisciplinary technical leadership, analytical ability, and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with power electronics, energy storage systems, power conversion equipment, renewable-energy products, or industrial systems.
• Experience influencing engineering strategy and technology roadmaps.
• Experience delivering products at scale against demanding cost, quality, and schedule targets.
• Experience mentoring and developing engineering teams.
