Junior DevOps Engineer

Location: Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal; hybrid work according to hirify.global Portugal's policy, with flexibility to work from the office or remotely.

What you will do

• Monitor and operate production systems under guidance.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents using established procedures.
• Participate in on-call rotations with mentorship and escalation support.
• Maintain monitoring dashboards, alerting rules, and observability setups.
• Support service checks, deployments, configuration updates, and operational documentation.

Requirements

• Academic or professional background in IT operations, systems engineering, DevOps, or software engineering.
• Basic knowledge of Linux, system administration, logs, processes, and networking.
• Initial exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with Docker, deployment concepts, Grafana, ELK, and Prometheus.
• Ability to work in Agile/Kanban teams with SLAs and read basic Python, Java, or scripting code for troubleshooting.
