Senior UX Designer (Robotics)

Location: Austin, TX, United States. Up to 10% travel may be required for research at customer sites.

What you will do

• Define operational workflows and end-to-end user experiences for robot deployment, onboarding, servicing, maintenance, training, and daily operation.
• Design user journeys, workflow maps, interaction flows, operational concepts, storyboards, prototypes, and future-state experiences across physical and digital touchpoints.
• Collaborate with Product, Industrial Design, UX Research, and Engineering to shape human-centered operational experiences.
• Improve trust, communication clarity, user mental models, and robot legibility in real-world environments.
• Translate ambiguous requirements, technical constraints, and operational needs into actionable workflow and experience definitions.
• Identify workflow assumptions, operational risks, and improvement opportunities through generative and evaluative research.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in UX design, service design, workflow design, interaction design, or a related discipline.
• Portfolio demonstrating systems thinking, workflow architecture, service design, and operational experience design in complex environments.
• Experience designing end-to-end workflows involving physical products, operational systems, or multiple user touchpoints.
• Ability to address user mental models, communication clarity, trust, onboarding, and operational usability.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary product, engineering, research, and design teams.
• Ability to work through ambiguity and create clear workflow definitions, journey maps, interaction concepts, and operational experience frameworks.

Nice to have

• Experience in robotics, automation, industrial systems, logistics, mobility, healthcare, or other operationally complex environments.
• Experience with service design, operational workflow design, or cross-touchpoint experience design.
• Familiarity with human-robot interaction, behavioral systems, or embodied interaction design.
• Experience with prototyping, concept development, usability testing, evaluative research, or operational validation.
